Zanotelli Kerner Alto Adige 2021

This is an outstanding producer in Trentino in the Alto Adige region that was recommended to us by our good friend Diego Bolognani. All of his winemaking friends know and love their wines, he explained. And here’s the part that blew me away– they even have a pretty significant advantage over the master himself: all their grapes are estate grown, unlike Diego who for years had to contract out for his grapes!

This is a stunning but rare offering and immensely crushable – just so good on it’s own. Like this summer’s Elbling, I’ve got a very special price while these bottles last. Of course, there’s less than 40 cases for the entire country and we have to share them with chef Ignacio Mattos’ Altro Paradiso as well as Frankie’s who are both pouring it by the glass.
