In the spectacular 2021 vintage in Napa Valley, Trefethen’s Oak Knoll Cabernet is a complete show-stopper. It’s dark and brooding with seductive aromas of black cherry, plum, lavender, and creme de cassis with a hint of dark chocolate. There are some noticeably smooth and lengthy tannins to this and some great weight too. It’s a big ol’ Cabernet that can dance!

Janet & John Trefethen have been at it in Oak Knoll since 1973 when they restored the original Trefethen winery that was established in 1886. This isn’t some fluke winery winning ‘Best in Show’ awards. Trefethen is iconic in the Napa Valley as one of the largest estate wineries as well as the only wooden gravity-flow winery in the entire region.
