Stolpman Para Maria de los Tecolotes Rosé 2019
The 2019 Para Maria de los Tecolotes Rosé (affectionately named after Ruben’s wife and partner, Maria) is 100% Syrah, salmon-pink in color, with a great nose of ruby red grapefruit and red apple. Bone-dry and low in alcohol it is a classic Rosé very much like the first one Melissa and I discovered on a trip to the south of France many, many years ago. Drink with just about anything this spring and summer but if you really want to be reminded of Santa Barbara County’s finest…..just a good juicy burger.
Clos Julien Price Canyon Chardonnay 2019
The 2019 Clos Julien is a classic example of California coastal Chardonnay, zippy-fresh and long on the palate. It starts out with a great nose of Granny Smith apple, citrus rind and acacia. In the mouth, the fruit is pure, with plenty of extract and the finish is clean and crisp. This Pacific-influenced wine is the perfect house white, delicious by itself as an aperitif but a fantastic foil to the cuisine of summer, scallops, grilled poultry, and summer corn.
Domaine Ricard Le Petiot Touraine Sauvignon Blanc 2018
Priced smack in the middle of the Domaine de la Potine and the Trois Chenes, the 2018 Le Petiot is hand-harvested from extremely low-yielding sauvignon vines. This creates small quantities of incredibly intense, juicy Sauvignon Blanc. It’s another wonderful showing from a winemaker who is no stranger to Michelin starred restaurants throughout France and Europe.

99 Points, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate – 97-100 Pts, Lisa Perotti-Brown
“The 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon Helena Dakota Vineyard explodes with violets, aniseed and cast iron, with a deep core of crushed blueberries and black cherries, evolving continually with each approach to the glass. The palate is stunning with its intensity and lift, pure fruits, pixelated tannins and focused acidity that drives the very long finish. Its exceptional balance and super pure flavors, plus that characteristic streak of iron that appears across the Anakota portfolio, really take the 2019 Helena Dakota to the next level.” -Erin Brooks, Parker’s Wine Advocate

The 2021 is bursting at the seams – a brooding, powerful Red Blend with raspberry, blackberry, vanilla and cranberry flavors on the attack that mesh with a hint of vanilla, and some well integrated sweet oak notes. It’s so silky smooth and inviting with pristine fruit – a mass appeal wine that is sure to be the talk of any table.
95 Points, Wine Spectator – 93 Points, Jeb Dunnuck
In a great 2020 vintage in Chianti, the Antinori Marchese Riserva is absolutely electric. It was a hot year, so it’s expressive right out the gates with red berry, creme de cassis and cherry vanilla aromas. There’s just so much elegance and grace to the wine, you can taste the pedigree here. There is not a single hard edge to this wine. At the price and with the score from Wine Spectator, this very well might be a Top 25 wine of the year this year… at the very least!
