Cantina Mesa Giunco Vermentino di Sardegna 2023 -91 Points, Vinous
The 2023 Vermentino di Sardegna Giunco impresses with its perfumed yet delicate blend of wildflower, kiwi and wet stone aromas. This is lifted and refined, with a subtle mineral tinge up front and crisp orchard fruit tones elevated by a core of cooling acidity as nuances of lime embellish the close. The 2023 leaves a saline tinge, finishing fresh and long with a citrusy resonance.
Chateau Peyrassol Cotes de Provence Rose 2022 -92 Points, Vinous
The 2022 Rosé opens with a savory bouquet, blending dusty dried flowers with ginger, cardamom and a touch of dried peaches. This washes across the palate with opulent textures while remaining remarkably fresh and light on its feet. Sweet spices and ripe orchard fruit swirl throughout. The Château Peyrassol cleans up beautiful, pure, fresh and perfumed. It ends on a salty flourish.
With summer right around the corner, you’re going to need to have some wines at the ready that can meet any occasion. Each Summer Fun Case comes with 3 bottles each of the following 4 wines:
Daniel Ford Pinot Noir Rose & Arrow Cuvee Willamette Valley 2023. SRP: $50
This is a Nicholas Wines exclusive throughout New Jersey for an incredibly special Cuvee. It was made exclusively for us by superstar winemaker Anne Sery and owner Colin Eddy, as a thank you for our unprecedented success with the ‘baseline’ Daniel Ford (stay tuned: my 2024 vtg. Tasting is next week). It comes from Rose & Arrow’s estate vineyard, one of Oregon’s only cult wineries, an estate that is perched high above the fog line in Willamette Valley’s illustrious Dundee Hills.
Hampton Water Rose France 2024 (90 pts, Decanter) SRP: $30
Affectionately known as the Bon Jovi Rose. This high-toned delicious French Rose comes from the Bon Jovi family and famous french winemaker, Gérard Bertrand. This comes with a 90+ point score (as it does just about every year) for a wine dubbed “impressively sapid and mineral” with “some peppery spice emerging on the fresh finish.” It’s a crowd-pleaser – that’s for sure!
Juliana Layla RRV Sonoma Coast Chard 2024 (Nicholas Exclusive) SRP: $40
My exclusive Sonoma Coast Chardonnay sourced from three of the most highly decorated vineyards in the Russian River Valley. A dream come true for me to have my daughter’s name attached to a Chardonnay this delicious. Chardonnay from these sites usually command $60+ and reserve offerings somehow now sit in the triple digits. Due to an NDA, I can’t reveal the sources, but I can tell you this: when you taste Russian River Valley Chardonnay of this quality, you understand why collectors obsess over this appellation.
Quilt Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley 2023 (94 pts, Tasting Panel) SRP: $55
This is the brand new never before offered vintage of everyone’s favorite Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon from the world-famous Wagner family behind Caymus. This one is from the outrageously good 2023 vintage, and unsurprisingly comes with a huge score (94 points). This one is available exclusively in this case until later this summer!
