The wine, which hails from the communes of La Morra, Novella, Monfore d’Alba and Verduno, is very obviously expertly made – immeasurably better than each and every other under $50 Barolo in the market today. It’s a classic Barolo with rich and layered aromas of red fruits and floral notes, with balanced tannins and lingering notes of cherries, chocolate and a hint of leather.
Perla Terra Barolo 2018
Perla Terra is the result of decades of love for the people, place and wines of Barolo. It’s sourced from some of the finest Cru vineyards of the entire region, where the grapes are vinified using traditional methods and then aged in large oak casks for a minimum of 18 months.
This is a classic, beautiful Barolo with great structure and length. It’s rich and layered with aromas of red fruits and roses, with balanced tannins and lingering notes of cherries, bramble, chocolate and leather.
For under $50/bottle, there aren’t many if any Barolos that are coming close to the quality of this one.
