Markus Huber is a highly acclaimed and influential winemaker in Austria, representing the 10th generation of his family’s winemaking tradition in the Traisental Valley. He took over the family winery, Weingut Markus Huber, in 2000, and has since transformed it into a globally recognized benchmark for Austrian wine, particularly known for its precision, minerality, and elegance.

Huber’s success stems from his deep understanding and dedication to the unique terroir of the Traisental. This region, Austria’s youngest and one of its smallest, is special for its limestone-rich soils (a rarity in Lower Austria) and a distinct climate where cool Alpine air meets warm Pannonian influences, leading to significant day-night temperature variations. These conditions contribute to intensely aromatic wines with vibrant acidity and excellent aging potential.
