Gary Farrell Pinot Noir Russian River Valley 2023

92 Points, Wine Spectator – 92 Points, Wine Enthusiast

Gary Farrell developed legendary partnerships with some of Sonoma County’s most renowned vineyards—Rochioli, Allen, Bacigalupi, and Hallberg—before they were widely recognized. His obsession with site specificity created what became known as the “Gary Farrell-esque” style: balance, vibrant acidity, and elegant cool-climate expression.

Wine Spectator and Wine Enthusiast both gave it 92 points with the latter calling out “Focused aromas of black cherry, blackberry and cola. Wine Spectator deemed this “A bright and friendly version, whose pomegranate and cherry fruit is engaging, with flashes of rose petal and iris.” It’s just a really beautiful, trademark Russian River Valley Pinot Noir that’s as classy as they come, especially at this price point.

Original price was: $55.00.Current price is: $39.99.

92 Points, Wine Enthusiast
Focused aromas of black cherry, blackberry and cola waft on the nose of this Pinot. The palate brings bright fresh cherry, spice mélange and flowers with orange peel acidity and echoes of cedar, roses and plum through the finish.

Few names invoke as much consumer confidence in the wind world quite like Gary Farrell. He’s earned a few nicknames over the years like pioneer, trailblazer and most impressively, “one of the few sure things in wine.”

Dating back to the late 1970’s he was part of a seminal group of winemakers who proved that Russian River Valley was “Pinot Noir heaven.” His first Pinot under his own label in 1982 was sourced from the iconic Rochioli Vineyard, and immediately set the benchmark for quality that still stands today.
