(2 Btls) Method Cabernet Sauvignon California 2023
History in the making for famous Master Sommelier Ian Cauble and his winemaking buddy Trevor Sheehan. The duo who already make some of the biggest values you’ll see in California just got one of the ultimate honors with their 2023 Method Cabernet Sauvignon being named the #1 Best Buy of the Year for Wine Enthusiast. It’s a double 93-point masterpiece (Wine Enthusiast/James Suckling) from the extraordinary 2023 vintage in California.
(2 Btls) Daniel Ford Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2023
This is a special Oregon Pinot Noir debut that has way more firepower than most. Anne Sery has outdone herself with this one. It’s bright ruby color in with gorgeous aromatics of red cherry, wild strawberry, and forest floor. The mouthfeel showcase pure vibrant fruit with that signature Oregon earthiness with everything working in sync. Silky tannins frame flavors of cranberry, pomegranate, and hints of baking spice, with the mineral backbone that comes from Oregon’s volcanic soils. The finish is long and elegant with subtle notes of rose petal.
(2 Btls) Vina Zorzal Garnacha Blanca 2023
This is a beautiful white blend of indigenous Spanish white grapes from gnarly old-vines along the Ebro River. It’s such a cool project, that includes minimal intervention winemaking to get the most out of each grape. This 2023 release is sensational, scoring big with both Parker’s Wine Advocate with 93 points and Master of Wine, Tim Atkin who came in at 92. Parker’s Wine Advocate said it best, “very clean and precise, varietal and fresh, with notes of white fruit and flowers with a very tasty finish.”
(2 Btls) Bele Casel Prosecco Superiore N.V.
Bele Casel has been one of my go-to producers since I first opened Restaurant Nicholas. It’s the kind of winery I can count on to deliver an elevated Prosecco experience that outshines just about everyone else. Their Extra Dry Prosecco Superiore is an elegant, non-vintaged treat that earned a rave 91-point review from Vinous. They raved: “It engulfs the palate with silken bubbles, creating an undeniable elegance while contrasting ripe orchard fruits with hints of candied citrus.”
(2 Btls) Delas Cotes-du-Rhone Saint-Esprit Rouge 2023
A beautiful GSM that features 60% Grenache, 30% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre. It’s super bright and vibrant Cotes-du-Rhone from one of the most trusted names in the region. Delas is known for their extraordinary and age-worthy Reds, and this shows that their newest vintage is as good, if not better than its last few predecessors. It comes in with a gorgeous 91-point review from James Suckling who called out “remarkably fine tannins” and a “long, velvety finish.”
(2 Btls.) I Greppi Greppicante Bolgheri Rosso 2023
The newly released 2023 Greppicante is a Super Tuscan beauty that demands your attention. It comes with some big scores too, with 94 points from the International Wine Cellar and 93 from James Suckling. It’s a true Bordeaux Blend with Cabernet, Merlot and Petit Verdot, aged twelve months in French oak. The IWC called it “precise and essential” with “rosemary, juniper berries, sandalwood, incense, elderflower, and wild violet.” Suckling found it “broad and structured, with a smooth, mineral-laced finish.” Perfect for Thanksgiving and the holidays ahead!
