An elegant and fragrant Fleurie that has the light-footed character and floral delicacy we associate with this appellation. The wine’s structure is very discreet, completely beneath the surface on the front palate, then slowly emerging in the long, precise finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

Fine bright rich purple. A plump and plummy fruit with characteristic cherries as well, graceful and full with a little trace of acidity behind. Kicks on well with plenty of energy but no excess warmth. Needs a little time but this is a stylish Fleurie. 13% alcohol.
Château de La Chaize is a historical landmark in the Beaujolais region of France, espeically within the Brouilly appellation. This sprawling estate dates back to the 17th century, completed in 1676, and its construction was overseen by none other than Jules Hardouin-Mansart, the principal architect of Versailles. The château itself is recognized for its classical French architecture, including one of the longest wine cellars in the region, which has been in continuous use for over 300 years.
But despite its ancient roots, Château de La Chaize is committed to modern, sustainable winemaking, focusing almost entirely on the Gamay grape—the lifeblood of Beaujolais. Since being acquired by the powerful entrepreneur Christophe Gruy in 2017, the estate has undergone massive investment aimed at elevating its quality and establishing it as the largest certified organic winery in the Beaujolais region.
This dedication to organic farming, coupled with its prime location on the slopes of Mont Brouilly, allows La Chaize to produce complex, age-worthy wines that perfectly express the local terroir and its unique pink granite soils, challenging the perception of Beaujolais as simply a light, easy-drinking wine.
