Chateau d’Issan Blason d’Issan Margaux 2018

94 Points, Jeb Dunnuck – 94 Points, James Suckling

In terms of ‘super seconds’ go, the Blason d’Issan is as delicious and moderately price as you could hope for out of Bordeaux. It’s a gorgeous wine that hits way above its weight-class and tastes far more like a first wine than a second. It’s an inky dark bottling with sweet black fruits, silky tannins, and a lovely mineral finish that lasts for a while. This is one that is starting to hit its prime and should be enjoyed (slowly!) over the next decade.

Original price was: $45.00.Current price is: $39.00.

94 Points, Jeb Dunnuck
“Blackberry, blueberry, graphite, clove, tobacco and mahogany on the nose. It’s medium-to full-bodied with firm, fine-grained tannins. Very tight and refined with a mineral finish. Pretty finesse and focus. Second wine. Better from 2024.”

94 Points, James Suckling
Very intense and tannic with a compact palate of blue fruit, such as blueberries. Full-bodied. Tight and powerful at the finish.
