While we’re known for bourbon, sometimes an opportunity comes along that’s too special to ignore. When two of Jalisco’s most respected master distillers decide to collaborate, you move quickly. I secured every six-pack available – all seven of them.
This is what happens when Carlos Camarena (the mastermind behind El Tesoro and Tequila Ocho) and David Suro (one of Tequila’s most respected voices and defenders of traditional production) join forces. Together, they’ve created something extraordinary.
Everything about Siembra Alteño is intentional – from the iron-rich crimson soil of the Highlands to the copper stills that belonged to Carlos’ grandfather. The attention to detail is remarkable. Every agave comes from a single plantation, ensuring pure terroir expression. They’re slowly roasted in traditional wood-fired brick ovens, then fermented with native yeasts in wooden vats. Even the spring water used to proof the spirit is proprietary to the Alteña distillery.
