Sarti Rosa Apertivo Italia

My distributor called me one day in a panic asking me if I wanted this. “You gotta tell me now, Nicholas, it’s the hottest bottle in the world right now.” Okay, I told him I’ll take 24 bottles. Then I talked to a few people who told me how hard it was to get. So I called my guy back and asked for 24 more bottles. All gone. I’m talking maybe five minutes, tops. The entire year’s allocation: gone.

You’ve heard of Aperol. You’ve tried the spritz. Now meet Aperol’s cooler, fruitier, more exciting Italian cousin.

Casa Luigi Sarti & Figli has been making Italian liqueurs out of Bologna since 1885. Sarti Rosa is their modern masterpiece. It’s an intensely pink, fruit-forward aperitivo built around Sicilian blood oranges, mango, and passion fruit with subtle notes of rose and red raspberry. It’s more floral and less bitter than Aperol, more tropical, more vibrant. The kind of drink that looks as good in the glass as it tastes.

The Sarti Rosa Spritz is what’s been taking Europe and now America by storm. Three parts Prosecco, two parts Sarti Rosa, one part sparkling water. Ice and a fruit garnish if you’re feeling crazy, and boom – you’re done. It’s the perfect patio drink, the perfect brunch drink, the perfect “it’s too hot outside to think about anything serious” drink. In the heart of summer, this is exactly what your home bar needs.

Original price was: $35.00.Current price is: $32.95.

Who’s ready for some cocktails?

Sarti Rosa is the latest and great new liqueur from Campari. But even know they also make Apero, and they’re both Italian aperitif liqueurs, the flavor profile here, as well as the color and the bitterness are no where close. Where Aperol is a bittersweet, rhubarb heavy, citrus taste, the Sarti Rosa is much more bright and floral. It’s bright pink color is unmistakable, as are the tropical fruitty notes like Sicilian blood orange, grapefruit, mango, and even a little passionfruit.

Easy Peasy Sarti Spritz Recipe:
4-5 oz of Bisol Jeio Prosecco
3 oz of Sarti Rosa
A splash (to taste) of Soda Water.

Start with a glass of ice, fill it about half way with Prosecco, then add Sarti Rosa to where you’d fill a cup of coffee if someone was looking to add a little cream. That last 5-10% should be the addition of soda water, just to bring out some more bright flavors.

Pro tip: For me, the flavor profile of this drink is a lot better with soda water than tonic water.
