It’s a super food-friendly red that’s fantastic with red meat, stews, and hard cheeses. It’s super well-rounded with fleshy fruit and great natural acidity that makes it one of those wines that perfectly balances the fat and protein of red meat without overwhelming it. It’s a star at the dinner table and a great value from Spain.

DO Montsant is known as the diamond in the rough of Spain. It’s one of only a handful of places to find some of the world’s best values as long as you know where to look. This red-hot, up-and-coming wine region forms a horseshoe shape around the far more famous Priorat region, but delivers incredible quality at a fraction of the price of its neighbors.
Perlat was crucial in forming DO Montsant in 2001 and remains one of the elite producers. Their vineyards spread across mountainous slopes among olive groves, forests, and large stones, where wine has been produced for thousands of years using environmentally respectful agricultural practices.
