There’s not a whole lot to say about this one other than I wish I had a lot more bottles to sell. These wines are heavily allocated, but I managed a few six-pack of 2022’s Wine Spectator Wine of the Year, in the 2022 vintage in Napa. It’s absolutely nuts this has To Kalon Vineyard fruit in it at this price, but that’s what makes this project so special. Multiple 100-point winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown crafts an absolutely gorgeous dark-fruited Cabernet Sauvignon in the plentiful and giving 2022 vintage where there are no round edges and some incredible layers of fruit and complexity to unpack here. Decanter gave it a 94-point score and called it” a compelling and layered expression of Oakville.” They’re not wrong!

He tasked acclaimed winemaker Thomas Rivers Brown with the winemaking duties and let him execute his own vision. Needless to say, it has paid off tremendously. After a three-year hiatus, Double Diamond returned by popular demand in 2018. And the next vintage, their 2019 Cabernet Sauvignon ended up as Wine Spectator’s #1 Wine of 2022.
