This is an incredible deal packaging together some of my best of my recent bourbon selections that I picked out in Kentucky when I went back in January. This is the first ever of its kind! All four of these were picked out by me, after tasting dozens and dozens of samples. You’re not going to find single barrel quality like this anywhere, I can promise you.
Each Single Barrel 4-pack includes:
1 btl. Clyde May’s Nicholas Reserve Single Barrel #2 Straight Bourbon Whiskey
This is a very rare single barrel Bourbon Whiskey to make its way to Jersey. Maple syrup, butterscotch, caramel & brown sugar with a palate of caramel apple, roasted almond, ripe banana and graham crackers. This one has a full mouthfeel with a nice creamy middle. The finish here lingers with just the right amount of burn. This was born on 2/3/2017 and bottled at 102 Proof. This is a great bottle of Whiskey.
1 btl. Rossville Union Cask Strength Nicholas Single Barrel Rye Whiskey (Barrel #7653830)
This one is flat-out delicious and my biggest, boldest flavor profile of the lot of them. It’s a cask strength bottling that comes in at 113.2 Proof. It’s even bigger than the Barrel Proof bottling that the distillery does. Truthfully, I picked this one out during the beginning of the pandemic and then forgot about it (there were a few) because it took so long to arrive. But as soon as it did and I refreshed my memory, I immediately starting stashing some bottles away to make for my Manhattan at Barrel & Roost and some private pours. It’s a fantastic bottle of Rye whiskey and you really never feel the heat.
1 btl. Jefferson’s Reserve Nicholas Single Barrel Very Old Very Small Batch Bourbon (100 Proof)
This is a very rare beauty and one of the few private barrels that Jefferson’s does at 100 Proof. It leads with sweet aroma of warm panatone. Then the sweet delectable taste of fruit and honey. A warm burning at the end. And the flavor of this nectar stays on your taste buds more than a couple of minutes. The way I like to drink it is with two or three drops of water. I understand those of you who would want to enjoy this with a single cube on a hot summer’s day though.
1 btl. Maker’s Mark Private Selection Nicholas Barrel Reserve #4
Makers asked me if I wanted to blend a 2nd barrel. I said “no chance, that was as good as I could do, make the 2nd the exact same as the first.” This is unique to Maker’s because if we blend the exact same way we can duplicate the barrel the same way a distillery gets a house style for their regular blend. As many of you experienced, that 3rd barrel tasted like the 2nd… and the first. It’s one of our best sellers always so if the recipe ain’t broke we’re not gonna mess with it. This baby comes in at 109.7 Proof and was born in May of 2022.
