Barrell Craft Spirits may be one of the ‘newcomers’ on the Kentucky Bourbon scene, but in a very short amount of time, they’ve also become one of the most decorated. We’re talking about a distiller that has been awarded Best Bourbon twice at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, named Best American Whiskey of 2018 by Forbes, and consistently listed in Whisky Advocate’s Top 20. They’re the masters of complex, cask strength blending without the typical corporate B.S. No frills, no fuss – just great juice.
BCS spent five years developing the blend techniques and processes used in this release of Gray Label Bourbon. This blending and marrying process is slow, labor-intensive, and costly, but we feel our patience pays off with this truly special offering. This release of Gray Label Bourbon is constructed from bourbons of varying ages made from five different mash bills. After marrying, the blend goes into casks made using 36-month air-dried staves that previously held Gray Label Bourbon, to rest and further mature.
