Marco Felluga Friuli Bianco Collio 2024

90 Points, James Suckling

More than 75% of Marco Felluga’s total production is white wine. That’s a huge testament to the international demand for their beautiful, fresh expressions. Wine Spectator called the Felluga family “a pioneer in Friuli since the 1950s.” The family now controls vineyards in four different parts of Collio, allowing them to grow a variety of grapes and produce whites that are consistently excellent.

Their newly released 2024 Friuli Bianco is flat-out delicious. It is so dang versatile, it can do it all. Bright citrus, green apple, a hint of stone fruit. Light and refreshing but with more depth than you’d expect. The kind of white that disappears fast at the table.

Original price was: $22.00.Current price is: $17.50.

92 Points, James Suckling
Aromas of sliced apples, peaches, stones, herbs and white pepper. It’s medium-bodied with fresh acidity and a concentrated, complex and spicy palate. Delicious finish. Drink now.

90 Points, Vinous
The sweetly scented 2020 Pinot Grigio Mongris soothes with its bouquet of white flowers, ripe pear and hints of vanilla bean. It’s round and enveloping with a stimulating core of zesty green citrus and brisk acids that create wonderful contrasts. This leaves the palate buzzing with residual tension, while tapering off long, spicy and perfumed.

The Fellugas are now onto their 5th generation with Roberto Felluga at the helm and mentoring his daughter Ilaria into the family business. A lot has changed for the Fellugas, with them now controlling vineyards in four different parts of Collio which allows them to grow a variety of different grapes.

More than 75% of their production is white wine, a testament to the international demand they have received for their beautiful, fresh white wine expressions. Wine Spectator called the Felluga family, “a pioneer in Friuli since the 1950’s.” The family makes nearly a dozen different whites from both international and indigenous grapes. Tasting through a white wine flight with Marco Felluga was always one of the greatest treasures you could experience on a trip to Italy. Unfortunately, the legendary winemaker passed away at the age of 96 this past April. But with his son Roberto Felluga in charge, things are as good as they can be in Collio.
