The wines of Luca Paretti are grown in Italy’s top spot for sparkling wine, Treviso in the heart of Prosecco in the north. This is a fun little wine people are going to like. The Luca Paretti Sparkling Rose is a beauty and is flat out way too cheap for what’s in the bottle.
The big reason it flies under the radar at this price is due to the inaugural year of the Prosecco Rose designate, which this wine misses on an account of not being made with 85% Glera. No matter, this Merlot/Raboso blend puts to shame most of the Prosecco Roses I tasted– offering superior aromas of wild strawberry, melon fruit and a hint of jasmine. The bubbles are super tiny and refreshing making this one way too easy to drink.

“The 2018 Barolo Cascina Nuova is fine-tuned with plenty of wild berry, cassis, grilled herb and crushed stone. The aromas are quite classic for Nebbiolo, but what stands out here is the directness and freshness with which they are delivered. The tannins are tucked carefully inside the smooth, silky character of this elegant wine.”
90 Points, Vinous
As of late, the duo is making some of the very best Pink wines in all of France, maybe even the world. Certainly, there’s no one right now producing greater values than what the Bielers are able to create. Take their 2021 Provence Rose as a perfect example: a lights out, bone-dry yet succulent, food-friendly treat that continues the trends of 90+ point reviews. The late, great Josh Raynolds of Vinous gave this one 90 points, calling the wine “juicy, focused, and energetic on the palate.” A perfect summarization.
The 2022 is a stunning example of this wine despite this year’s tiny allocation. With such a small amount of fruit used, this is always so deeply concentrated and energetic. Both its aromas and flavors seem to echo the layered soils in which its grown – presenting their own continuously evolving strata of mint, ginger, anise, and stone fruit.

You aren’t going to do better finding a racy, mouthwateringly spicy, zipped-up bottle of Rose than this Italian gem. You’re certainly not going to find one as highly rated or highly recommended by two very-well respected wine critics. And, of course, you won’t find an uglier label out there either.
