Marie Jacqueson is producing Burgundy that is nothing short of magical in the backwater of Rully, proving once again to really find value, you have to get off the rue nationale.
Her 2019 reds are absolutely stunning. Chaponnieres is a single parcel on the same hillside as the premier crus, with southern exposure and vines planted in 1950. They are rooted in a fine clay, the perfect soil for producing wine of incredible purity of fruit. Marie’s 2019 has intense aromatics of strawberry, black cherry, cinnamon and roses. The fruit is almost crunchy; incredibly fresh, juicy, really flat-out delicious.  Great now, great in 10 years, qualitatively worth double the price.
