Frank August is one of those show-stopping Bourbons that in a very little time has made some enormous noise at NW and become an instant favorite. It’s a critical darling too. Any of the Small Batch Bourbon we’ve gotten has immediately flown out the door. But for the first time ever, we’ve made enough noise to pry away the flagship Bourbon from the masses: our first crack at the Single Barrel cask strength bottling. Our is absolutely delicious and even though it checks in at 123.8 Proof  (61.9% alc.) you never feel it – it’s just so smooth and balanced.

This is actually only the 2nd release of hand-selected single barrels from their growing library of some of the most beautiful Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey. With the release, these guys do something totally unique – bringing in the very best blenders in the industry, and enlisting them to help identify ONLY the very best 15 single barrels to make for their collection. It’s an arduous but fun process, and Frank August has repeatedly said they will never up their production. Through this whole extensive process, each hand picked barrel is bottled at cask strength, sitting anywhere between 114.6 and 125.4 Proof. They are all at least six years of age and every sample I’ve had of this has completely blown my mind. These guys are like The Little Engine That Could.
