Dominus Estate Vertical 3-Pack (’19, ’20, ’21)

What a ridiculously special treat we have here today from one of the best wineries in the world. Three consecutive vintages of Dominus Estate in all of their glory. This is unprecedented access and a completely unbeatable price. Each vertical three-pack comes with one bottle each of the 2019, 2020 and 2021 vintage. I’ve seen no one else with anything else remotely like this. This is a once in a lifetime collector’s item.

2019 Dominus Estate:
“The 2019 Dominus is a blend of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot and 4% Cabernet Franc, aged in 40% new French oak. Impressively dark-hued in the glass, it yields scents of cherries and cassis on the nose—or is it black cherries and redcurrants? Subtle notes of mocha, pencil shavings and almost Graves-like earthiness wind through the concentrated, medium to full-bodied palate, giving it a sense of savory gravitas, while the finish is silky and long, leaving a lingering residue of soft tannins and mouthwatering freshness.” -98 Points, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate

2020 Dominus Estate:
“Aromas of blackcurrants, black cherries, hints of graphite, wet earth, and lavender. Sandalwood. Full-bodied with an impressive and refined structure that runs deep and vertical in the wine. Chewy. Hints of chocolate and hazelnut at the end. Needs five or six years to soften.” -98 Points, James Suckling

2021 Dominus Estate:
“One of the legendary Dominus, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is unquestionably in the same league as the 2018, 2016, 2015, 2013, 2010, and 1991, and to my mind, wine simply doesn’t get any better. Sporting a dense purple hue as well as an incredible perfume of blackcurrants, crushed stone, cedar pencil, smoke tobacco, and baking spices, its rich, full-bodied, and voluptuously textured, with ripe yet building tannins. It reminds me slightly of the 2010 (maybe the 2013), and I suspect it will have a similar evolution. Hide bottles for 7-8 years, and it will evolve gracefully for 30+ years. Hats off to the team of Christian Moueix and director Tod Mostero.”-100 Points, Jeb Dunnuck

Lots of crushed stone, lead pencil and licorice aromas that are extremely aromatic and bright. Black cherries, cloves and purple fruit, too. Full body and a round and ripe center-palate with a juicy interior. It opens at the end with a savory and juicy finish. Layered and beautiful. Drinkable now, but better in three or four years. -98 Points, James Suckling

2020 Vintage:

I’d put the 2020 Dominus up with the best in the vintage, and Tod commented that he actually liked the 2020 more than the 2019. I wouldn’t go that far, but there’s no denying this is a beautiful wine loaded with darker currants, cassis, graphite, and chalky minerality. It’s medium to full-bodied, has a dense, inward, concentrated style, fine-grained tannins, and a solid mid-palate of both power and finesse. 95+ Points, Jeb Dunnuck

2021 Vintage:
One of the legendary Dominus, the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon is unquestionably in the same league as the 2018, 2016, 2015, 2013, 2010, and 1991, and to my mind, wine simply doesn’t get any better. Sporting a dense purple hue as well as an incredible perfume of blackcurrants, crushed stone, cedar pencil, smoke tobacco, and baking spices, its rich, full-bodied, and voluptuously textured, with ripe yet building tannins. “The 2021 Dominus, 95% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, is opaque purple-black in color. It needs a lot of coaxing to lure out scents of freshly crushed blackcurrants, blackberry preserves, stewed plums, and boysenberries giving way to subtle nuances of violets, licorice, and tar plus a touch of cedar in the background. The full-bodied palate is taut with densely laden, muscular black fruits framed by a firm grainy texture and well-played tension, finishing on a lingering ferrous note. A stunning vinous record of time and place, this is a 50-year+ Napa Cabernet to be experienced across generations.” 100 Points, Lisa Perotti-Brown, Wine Independent
