The Talmard family has been an important part of the winemaking tradition in the Maconnais region of Burgundy since the 17th century. In 1971, Paul Talmard withdrew from the local cooperative and decided to estate bottle the wines produced by his family’s property. Today, his children run the show and have continued the tradition of making incredibly fresh, stony, mineral White Burgundies that are an absolute steal under $20/btl.
Tank-fermented and aged Chardonnay from the heart of Burgundy is a classic pairing for summer cuisine of all types. Vinified in tank with no oak influence makes for the purest of Chardonnays. The 2018 from Talmard is no exception. It’s fresh and fruity, with ripe-pear fruit and zippy acidity. It’s the classic spring/summer white.

Perfect house white for al fresco dining!
It’s pure Chardonnay, juicy, vibrant and so food-friendly. Roast some salmon and make sweet corn risotto…perfect match!
Just in time, we got back Vincent Ricard’s all-time great white wine bargain. This is a crisp, clean and flat out delicious Loire Valley Sauvignon Blanc. The protege to the Silex-style of Dagueneau – who over the last 15 years has produced flawless and beloved white wines that at last count were on the wine lists of over 36 Michelin-starred restaurants. This is a great house white and one that can surely hold its own with just about everything on the table.
The 2016 vintage in Napa was nearly perfect for winemaker Kian Tavakoli (Opus One, Clos du Val). With ideal weather all throughout harvest, he crafted the Faustini Money Road Chardonnay off the famous vineyard located in the coveted Oakville AVA. The picturesque vineyard off Oakville Crossroad is platinum rated, known for its ideal combination of soil & climate and the big A list names that routinely source fruit. Kian’s Money Road Chard is still youthful despite having a few years of age, probably as a result of its 18 months of slumber in 1/4 new Oak.
A large glass is necessary to capture the brilliant aromatics of Talmard’s Macon Uchizy. Aromas of ripe Meyer lemon, peach, honey and mint just blast from the glass upon pouring. The wine takes on weight with aeration, developing flavors of crisp green apple, juicy peach and lemon custard. The finish is long and fresh, so good with food. Roast some salmon, make sweet corn risotto, use it as an aperitif, it’s a great choice for a spring/summer-house white wine.
A wine that is both aromatic and silky, lively and fresh! This very accessible white is an excellent introduction to the Peyrassol style. With its elegant fruitiness, its light style, it is thirst-quenching and accompanies all the good times of summer.
