The story behind Renaissance is incredible. The Fleuriet family has been farming in Sancerre since the 18th century, with brothers Benoit and Mathieu representing the latest generation of this winemaking dynasty. In 2014, when family friend Stéphane Marchand became seriously ill, he asked the brothers to help revive his fallow vineyards in the heart of Sancerre. What started as a favor became something extraordinary – the complete rebirth of forgotten Sancerre terroir.
These brothers didn’t just restore the vineyards; they transformed them. Working with absolute commitment to sustainability, they achieved organic certification in 2019 and full biodynamic status by 2021. This is painstaking manual work driven by their belief that great wine must reflect the soil and climate of Sancerre’s legendary limestone and clay terroir.
