Fabrice Gasnier is consistently one of the best producers in Chinon. The La Cravantine is a sparkling rosé made from 100% Cabernet Franc and it delivers a incredibly unique punch. It’s bright and lively with a wonderfully smooth, rich aftertaste that lingers on the mouth. Great with food or enjoyed by itself during cocktail hour!

91 Points, Vinous
Eric Guido of Vinous just reviewed a number of Bele Casel wines last week and lobbed heaps of praise for each and every one of them. For this one in particular, he wrote a great review that I agree with on multiple fronts. For one, he called out ripe orchard fruits and candied citrus which I think helps set this one apart. In the dry category, you rarely get so much pure, juicy fruit as you do in this one. He also noted the “chalky minerality’ before calling out ‘the amazing length and freshness’ of this wine which called an ‘excellent entry into the dry category’.
The mystery packs have been a big hit up until now, but I must warn you that this one is not like the others. No pack so far has contained wines quite like today’s Valentine’s Mystery Six Pack. Not only do I have a few bottles that are just perfect for the romantic day, but also an almost perfect/very highly scored wine from one of the greatest vintages in history that ordinarily goes for nearly a hundred/bottle and some other treats in there as well. All for more than 30% OFF!
Vincent’s wines are now the darlings of I don’t know how many Michelin star wine lists (36 at last count). Perhaps more importantly, his wines are universally beloved by the Nicholas Faithful but perhaps none more so than his tiny “Les Trois Chênes” cuvee. Drawn exclusively from the oldest parcel on the estate planted by his grandfather in 1947, these ancient vines have burrowed deep into the limestone rich soil – providing a freshness and startling minerality typically only found in the top wines of Sancerre.
Marie Jacqueson’s best red is a 1er cru from the vineyard Préaux. The vines are old here, averaging almost 50 years in age. The soil is a classic mix of clay and limestone providing for soaring aromatics of strawberry, black cherry, cinnamon and roses. The fruit is almost crunchy; incredibly fresh, juicy, really flat-out delicious. Those limestone soils gives the wine great length, with a mineral finish that goes a mile. Great now, great in 10 years, and qualitatively worth double the price. There are only 78 bottles available this year. Then we wait again!
