91 Points (Best Buy), Wine Enthusiast

Sometimes referred to as the ‘Chablis of the Loire’, it’s easy to see why so many people like these wines. Combining a bone dry palate with green apple fruit, melon and stony minerality, is a recipe for a food-friendly wonder. This is so electric and vibrant with a delicious mid-palate and a bolt of acidity and minerality that sticks with you even after your last sip. Textbook wine for oysters and seafood!

This riper-styled Muscadet delights. Cheerful aromas of golden apple, white peach and quince open on the nose along with hints of young cedar and orange zest. The palate is firm with juicy fruit that rides of wave of springy acidity.

Florent Delaunay is a talented young winemaker who represents the third generation of winegrowers from his family to tend the vines at this beautiful 30 hectare estate in Le Loroux-Bottereaux in the Loire Valley. Florent has been executing on his vision for years, first converting the farming to entirely certified organic practices with more to come.

The small but mighty estate is located in the Muscadet Cru Communeau of Goulaine, at the northern end of the Sèvre-et-Maine appellation, where the vines, planted on outcroppings of gneiss, schist, and other metamorphic rock, overlook the marshland that extends north to the Loire. This part of the Loire is way too underrated, especially considering how many interesting and strong values come from here.
