Cuarto Dominio is a small, historic family winery in Mendoza, Argentina. It’s one of the region’s oldest, having been founded by fourth-generation winemakers with deep roots in the region. Winemakers Andrés and Constanza Blanchard have since joined Javier Catena to run the project, honoring ancestors who moved from Italy and planted early vines in the early 1900s. This is a pretty serious winery that blends their old-world heritage with modern high-altitude winemaking in the foothills of the Andes Mts.
Each year, these wines are some of the highest scoring Reds in all of Argentina, highlighted by their single-vineyard, extended-aged bottlings. But don’t be fooled, their ‘entry-level’ wines are easily some of the finest values in Argentina and beyond, combining that same incredible winemaking team with bottles that cost considerably less than $20/bottle.
