When looking through the deep archives of my restaurant wine vault, I came across a few bottles of this sensational wine. It’s truly one of the great sparkling wines in the world and one that collectors and bubbly lovers fight tooth and nail to get their hands on. A blend of four to six different vintages, the Rose Champagne never ceases to amaze and to throw new turns.
Now onto the sixth generation of Krugs, the winery still operates it did from the first day, with the sole goal to make the very best Champagne no matter the vintage. Their reputation speaks for itself. Their wines are usually a treat you want to enjoy slowly and hope it never ends. Just two of these iconic wines to offer up!

94 Points, James Suckling
This one has always been my go-to for entertaining – I just hand everyone a glass upon arrival and people are always thrilled. The new batch of 2020 Barmes Cremant has just landed – and it’s so dang good. So much freshness and energy, with a beautiful nose of green apple and Anjou pear with tinges of honey, white nuts and white flowers. The fruit is near perfect, richly concentrated with a creamy texture. The finish is endless, with the tiniest of bubbles, with a zippy acidity that makes it perfect with seafood.
94 Points (Best Buy), Wine & Spirits
“Deep in color and vinous in its red fruit, this is a spicy and compelling rosé. There’s pristine strawberry flavor at its core, surrounded by accents of red grapefruit, blood orange and fennel. The wine’s intensity rises like its bubbles from base note to high notes, leaving a pale red fruit ghosting in the finish.”
Recently Wolffer Estate has expanded their famous Rose line to now include a Cotes de Provence Rose. For my money, it’s hands down a better bottling – an energetic and super fresh pink wine created from the French staple Rose grapes of Grenache, Cinsault and Syrah as opposed to the Long Island version that has a whole lot of varietals mixed in. It’s bright and balanced and the perfect treat for the pool or beach as the weather warms.
Fresh off a huge feature in The Wall Street Journal in which they were crowned as the top Prosecco Rose in a lineup of 14, I suspect what was once our little secret will explode. James Suckling also finally got around to tasting it and gave it 91 points. I’d rate it even higher. The 2021 Bisol Jeio Brut Prosecco Rosé is remarkable, and simply put, mouth-wateringly delicious. Inviting aromas of flowers and wild strawberries, with a complex mouthfeel that sings with citrus fruits and creaminess from the tiny crisp bubbles.
