Zin is rarely so impeccably structured as this red, which aptly combines sleek richness with old-school briar, offering distinctive notes of blueberry, raspberry, green peppercorn and fruitcake spices that build richness toward the polished finish. Drink now through 2035.

The 2023 Zinfandel Carlisle Vineyard is a deep purple/magenta color. Its nose is more intense and sapid, with notes of eucalyptus, woodsy pine, plum, and lavender. It’s full-bodied, with an angular and salty acidity feel, ripe tannins, and broader shoulders all around. It’s a more contemplative wine to enjoy over the coming 8-10 years. Mike Officer’s 2023s are exceptional and should not be missed. Backed by his decades-long dedication to seeking out and championing exceptional sites and farmers, these wines deliver hedonistic pleasure and intellectual curiosity in spades. Not to mention, they far overdeliver for the price points.
