Sometimes, a straightforward, crisp, and delicious white wine is exactly what you need. It doesn’t need any bells and whistles, it just has to deliver. When it’s time for something fresh, fruity, floral and fun, this is the one you want on your table. It’s not going to break the bank, either.
Pietrame’s Pinot Grigio has it all. It’s a vibrant expression with super clean, super racy fruit—notes of green apple, citrus, lemon lime, apricot, and even honeysuckle. It really hits all the right notes and has great natural acidity that makes it a great pair for food.
This one comes from Cantina Tollo out of Abruzzo, which is pretty darn impressive in its own right. They operate on ancient vineyards that date back to before the Romans(!), meaning the land there has literally been cultivating wine for thousands and thousands of years. It’s pretty wild. Their whole thing is to let that incredible ancient terroir speak for itself, so everything they do is organic and sustainable. Their lineup is chock full of fantastic values.

92 Points, Luca Maroni
Straw yellow in colour. Crisp, clean and refreshing fruit flavours are abundant throughout, with a well balanced finish. Citrus aromas encompass the palate and are integrated with clean mineral flavours. An ideal match with light first courses of rice and pasta, soups, salads, white meats, fish and baked seafood.

This is the “Clos de la Géraudrie Granite” bottling from Domaine de la Géraudrie and it’s a beauty. It gives you everything you’re looking for in a Muscadet. It’s bright and aromatic with sweet stone fruits, but also wonderful, lip-smacking acidity and piercing minerality that dominate the palate. It’s a match made in heaven for anything with seafood, but would also pair nicely with a summer salad, some fresh Jersey corn and tomatoes or even poultry dishes.
A large glass is necessary to capture the brilliant aromatics of Talmard’s Macon Uchizy. Aromas of ripe Meyer lemon, peach, honey and mint just blast from the glass upon pouring. The wine takes on weight with aeration, developing flavors of crisp green apple, juicy peach and lemon custard. The finish is long and fresh, so good with food. Roast some salmon, make sweet corn risotto, use it as an aperitif, it’s a great choice for a house white to be enjoyed all year round.
Top notch Chenin grown on a biodynamically farmed parcel of gravel over limestone and flint. Vinified dry in steel with no wood aging. From the glass, complex Aromas of Anjou pear, citron, white flowers and cream soar with just a touch of jasmine and honey. On the palate, the wine is rich yet still bone dry with a vibrant core of peach and pear fruits and a fresh crackling of saline and minerality. The zipped up acidity makes this wine both fantastic at the table and a great candidate for aging.
The Zenato family has built up quite the reputation for delivering exceptional value with their red and whites in Veneto. Their Pinot Grigio is a particularly great value, punching way above its weight class. Delicately scented and soft on the palate, it offers classic citrus and floral notes in a balanced elegant style. It’s smooth and refreshing with a long, pleasant finish. Great with food.
