Buffalo Trace E.H. Colonel Taylor Cured Oak Bourbon

“A masterpiece that, in truth, might be too much for inexperienced whiskey devotees.” -Paul Pacult’s Spirit Journal

The Colonel E.H. Taylor Cured Oak bottling is a highly sought-after, limited-release Bottled-in-Bond bourbon from the iconic Buffalo Trace Distillery. It features a 10-year age Bourbon statement that was bottled at 100 proof and built from white oak barrel staves that air-dried for 13 months (as opposed to the standard 6 months for curing) to develop even more deep and nuanced layers. It’s a super sophisticated, super rare release that I only could snag a few precious bottles of.

“A masterpiece that, in truth, might be too much for inexperienced whiskey devotees.” – Paul Pacult’s Spirit Journal

The aroma of cooked berries meets the nose, followed by a rich caramel and slightly floral smell. The taste is bold and full of spice that fills the mouth with a distinct flavor of toasty vanilla, dried oak and pepper. The finish is long and satisfying with a powerful rye character and lingering hints of fruit.
