98 Pts, Decanter
The current-release 2013 vintage features a nose of dried cherries combined with spice and smoke, adding a savoury element. The tannins are still tight but fine-grained, and balanced by the firm, linear acidity. There’s weight and breadth on the palate due to the immense fruit concentration, with a persistent finish. Elegant and poised.

97 Pts, James Suckling
“A super, dense core of mixed dried berries, together with notes of caramel and a mix of mild Indian spices, from coriander to mace. Full-bodied with a liqueur-like bead of fruit that’s riding abundant but well-integrated tannins through the long, long finish. Excellent and so fresh. Delicious to drink now, or in your centenary year!”

96 Pts, Wine Enthusiast
This classic Amarone exudes a robust essence of dark fruits and earthy undertones, reminiscent of a rich, oak forest and worn leather. On the palate, it unveils a compelling story of ripe cherries, plums, and a hint of spice, culminating in a velvety finish that lingers like a timeless song. Drink now–2050.

Bertani isn’t just another winery; it’s a legend in the Valpolicella region. Steeped in history dating back over 150 years, they’ve pioneered innovative techniques and championed the unique character of Veronese wines. From their iconic Amarones to their elegant Valpolicella Classico, Bertani crafts masterpieces that are both true to tradition and undeniably captivating.

The 2013 bottling was made from 80% Corvina Veronese and 20% Rondinella. The grapes are air-dried for 78 days, enhancing their concentration before undergoing fermentation and aging for seven years in large Slavonian oak barrels, followed by one year in bottle. This process results in a wine of great complexity and depth. It should come as a surprise to no one that in a great year like 2013, this wine flirts with perfection yet again.
