Arano Moradillo de Roa Ribera del Duero 2019

95 Points, James Suckling

Fifteen months of barrel aging creates perfect balance between oak and fruit, while the high-altitude vineyards deliver the acidity and freshness that make this wine cellar-worthy yet immediately drinkable.

You can tell from the very first sniff that’s a serious wine – but it’s not one that I couldn’t immediately pinpoint as Ribera del Duero. It’s compact and well-built, yet so very pretty with juicy, rich red and black fruits, with hints of bramble and cocoa. Everything is framed by natural acidity and silky smooth Tempranillo tannins that you can hardly even notice.

Original price was: $30.00.Current price is: $23.00.

95 Points, James Suckling
Seductively spicy nose of spiced plums, nutmeg, peppercorns and coconut. Full-bodied with creamy, velvety tannins. Rich and delicious. All integrated and polished. Long. 100% tempranillo. Drink or hold.

For 138 years, CVNE has been synonymous with elegant Rioja, but their expansion into Ribera del Duero shows why they’re considered Spanish royalty. This 2019 Arano from their high-altitude Moradillo de Roa vineyards captures everything compelling about this rugged plateau – 100% Tempranillo with the kind of precision and class that separates CVNE from everyone else.

The magic happens in those five selected plots where CVNE applies its legendary touch to Ribera’s natural power. Fifteen months of barrel aging creates perfect balance between oak and fruit, while the high-altitude vineyards deliver the acidity and freshness that make this wine cellar-worthy yet immediately drinkable.
