The Arceno estate is built atop one of Tuscany’s most ancient landscapes. It’s 1500-1700 feet above sea level just above the Chianti subregion of Castelnuovo Berardenga, and is the perfect place to make age-worthy reds. Under legendary winemaker Pierre Seillan, they divided the vineyards into 63 distinct “micro-crus” across complex soils of sandstone, basalt, and clay. An estate that was built for making earth-shattering, age-worthy cuvees.
This is the pinnacle of Tenuta di Arceno’s offerings: a Cabernet Franc-based blend with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot covering the other 30% of the blend. It’s a wine that’s viewed as a global benchmark for Cab Franc in Italy and one that rivals some of the best of the Right Bank.
