100 Points, Antonio Galloni-Vinous
The 2022 Beau-Sejour Becot is a total stunner. What a wine! The 2022 was magnificent en premier and it’s all that from the bottle too. The aromatics are mesmerizing. Crushed rose petal, mint, blood orange, new leather, and cedar mold into a core of pliant red-toned fruit. More than anything else, I am so impressed with the wine’s precision and finesse. I have never tasted a Beau-Sejour Becot like this.
Beau-Sejour Becot Saint-Emilion 2022
Vinous’ #8 Wine of the Year (Top 100, 2025)
100 Points, Antonio Galloni- Vinous (#1 Rated Saint-Emilion of the 2022 Vtg.)
Welp, I guess the secret is out.
Since the winery’s directional change in 2019 and the arrival of superstar, Thomas Duclos, this super tiny property with tiny production has steadily gained tremendously in quality. Now, they are making wines of exceptional purity, with gorgeous fruit and minerality and they have become unexpected critic darlings.
The secret may have already been out though – for the past two vintages, the wines completely sold out en primeur). But in the 2022 vintage, I couldn’t let that happen and had to secure us a little piece. They’re similar to their famous neighbor on the plateau of Saint-Emilion: Chateau Canon (but still remaining way more affordable!)
