The Wine
The winemaking team at Faust is ridiculous. Similar to the team at Quintessa (Michel Rolland/Andy Erickson) minus Rebekah Wineburg but with Charles Thomas (Opus One) and David Jelinek (Copain/Prisoner/Groth). The vineyard source out of this world – a little slice of heaven on the foothills of Atlas Peak in Coombsville. The wine is aged and bottled at Quintessa’s state-of-the-art winemaking facility. Every year, the scores get bigger and the allocations get smaller!

Turley’s new Steacy Ranch is absolutely sensational. I think it hits above its 92-point review from Parker’s Wine Advocate, but that’s just me. It’s such an intricate single-vineyard wine that comes from vines that were first planted in 1907!!! This is not your every-day Zin in any way shape or form. It’s layered and elegant and a sophisticated Big Red that demands a place in the cellar.
