Here’s why this wine is such a runaway success: David Low is the winemaker behind the scenes. If that name sounds familiar, it’s because he’s also the founding winemaker at Anthill Farms after spending a long time at Williams Selyem—two of the most sought-after Pinot Noir producers in California. This is the same guy regularly crafting $100+ bottles, and taking that expertise and putting it behind his brother’s passion project, with fruit he gets to select himself from English Hill Vineyard.
English Hill sits on a hilltop in the southwest Sonoma Coast, just a few miles from the Pacific Ocean. The vineyard overlooks Tomales Bay and the Petaluma Wind Gap, and the ocean influence is unmistakable—bright, pure-fruited Pinot Noir with remarkable earth tones and coastal minerality. The elevation, the unique Goldridge sandy loam soils, and a relentless maritime fog create the perfect conditions for creating serious Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir.
