Villa Maria Pinot Noir Reserve Marlborough 2020

Villa Maria is widely regarded as one of the best producers in New Zealand, especially when it comes to quality-to-price ratio. There’s a few good reasons for that too.

For one, their history in NZ winemaking is richer than most. Started back in 1961, VM is one of the older wineries in Marlborough with a winemaking team that has far more experience than nearly anyone else.

They’re also insanely consistent. Every year, their wines across the board from entry to flagship are amongst the best. Their wines are consistently rated 90+ from some of the world’s most respected wine critics, like Wine Spectator, Decanter and James Suckling.

Their 2020 Reserve Pinot Noir keeps that trend going – delivering in spades layers of richness, elegance and silky red berry fruit. There’s not a harsh note to be found throughout, really just a juicy, super smooth Pinot Noir that is very clearly in its drinking prime.
