The Mascot Cabernet Sauvignon 2018

Categories , ,

The Mascot is a blend of Harlan, Bond and Promontory barrels, 100% pure Cabernet Sauvignon from some of the most spectacular vineyards in the Napa Valley. Is it expensive? Hell, yes, at $165, it’s a Saturday nighter for sure. But when you consider Harlan Estate goes for about $1100 a bottle and Bond and Promontory come in around $700, and both of them received perfect 100-point scores the previous vintage from multiple reviewers, then the Mascot almost looks like a Tuesday nighter. Almost…

The 2018 was a huge vintage for Will Harlan with a few 100-point scores and more importantly, some of his greatest bottlings to date. Lucky for us, Will never submits this great wine for scoring, because otherwise it would probably cost three times more and would be even harder than it already is to secure.

This is one of those vintages where the very best winemakers make truly age-worthy Cabernet Sauvignons to be enjoyed for decades to come.

Original price was: $185.00.Current price is: $165.00.

Winemaker Will Harlan (yeah, that Harlan family) makes an absolute must-have Saturday night stunner in what was an absolutely epic 2014 vintage.

The Mascot is a blend of Harlan, Bond and Promontory barrels, Cabernet Sauvignon from some of the most spectacular vineyards in the Napa Valley. Considering those are two of the very best wines in the country and are each coming off 100-point scores, you can say the stakes are raised. But really, we’re lucky that Will Harland has decided to continue to make this amazing wine. The 2018 was a big, powerful one in Napa – setting up perfectly for a Mascot that is a deep, rich and dark fruited as I can remember it. It’s still so elegantly structured with long, powdery tannins, but the energy and force here is what makes this one exceptional.
