The Tasca family has been an integral part of the Sicilian wine scene for generations and is considered by many to be one of its biggest champions. They were the very first producer to market their wines with ‘Sicily’ proudly stated on the label at a time when winemakers thought that ‘Italian table wine’ would be better received.
But the Tasca family had a really good feeling about the special soil that lay beneath their vines. They envisioned great possibilities and they forged ahead.
Operating on Mount Etna’s north slope, the family’s vineyard sits with northern exposures at 600 meters above sea level. Tenuta Tascante was the first to know what so many now do—wines here are unlike any in the world. They’re not overly fruity, but rather more salty and refreshing—low alcohol, high PH wines with amazing mineral backbones that stand up to any food or completely shine on their own.

91 Points, Vinous
The Etna Bianco Buonora is nuanced and savory in the glass, impressing with a mix of yellow apple, dried florals, hints of raw almond and smoke. This is soft-textured with a lovely acid balance that motivates its saline-tinged orchard fruits and hints of sour melon. The Buonora finishes with finesse, both lightly structured and classically dry. This is already so pretty today, but with the potential for short-term cellaring.
