Tenuta Sant’Antonio was founded by four brothers—Armando, Tiziano, Paolo, and Massimo Castagnedi—who moved away from the bulk-production trends of Valpolicella to focus on high-elevation, artisanal expressions of indigenous Veronese varieties. While everyone else in the region is making heavier and heavier Amarone, these guys are doing something different.
The estate sits in the Monti Garbi district in the eastern part of Valpolicella, where white calcareous soils provide unique minerality and higher acidity. This high-altitude positioning allows for longer ripening cycles, resulting in wines with intense aromatic complexity. The Nanfrè is made without dried grapes, without oak, and with lower alcohol. Pure Corvina that’s bright, juicy, and alive.
