St. Supery Sauvignon Blanc Napa Valley 2022

92 Points (Editors’ Choice), Wine Enthusiast – 91 Points, Wine Spectator

I recently had the opportunity to taste the 2022 vintage of this classic Napa bottling, and it truly impressed me. It’s one of the best domestic Sauvignon Blancs I’ve had lately, no doubt about it. It’s a complex wine, with nuanced citrus notes gradually revealing themselves, along with some stone fruit and honeydew flavors. What sets it apart for me is the exceptional freshness, purity of fruit, and vibrancy. It feels like I’m getting their very best with this one. It’s a match made in heaven for any kind of seafood too.

Beautiful, layered fruit flavors and a finely polished texture create an elegant, well-balanced wine that’s relatively light on the palate and lingers nicely on the finish.

91 Points, Wine Spectator

Vivid and juicy, with intense passion fruit, lime and peach notes, plus details of white tea, ruby grapefruit and wild fennel on a sleek, refreshing frame.

90 Points, James Suckling

Aromas of pears and white nectarines with hints of raw almond, white flowers and crushed stones. Medium-bodied with clean and crunchy acidity cutting through the vivid palate with notes of lime zest and leafy herbs. Citrusy finish.

Situated in the heart of Napa’s Rutherford growing region, St. Supéry Estate has established a unique niche for itself. While the winery is known for its fantastic Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignons that showcase the best of Napa Valley terroir, its true standout is its super pure, crisp Sauvignon Blanc.

St. Supéry’s Sauvignon Blanc stands out in large part due to the unique terroir of the Dollarhide Ranch, a 1,530-acre property in the northeastern mountains of St. Helena. Ever since they bought that property, their white wine program has exploded on the scene.

The diverse climate and mineral-rich soils play a big role in the huge scores that St. Supéry’s consistently racks up. The cool nights on the mountains are no doubt responsible for the beautiful natural acidity that enhances the stone fruit, citrus, and tropical fruit flavors of the wine and then the winemaking team takes care of the rest.
