Serego Alighieri Possessioni Bianco 2019

Today’s gem comes from Serego Alighieri, long considered one of the most prestigious estates in all of Veneto. The historic estate actually dates back over 650 years, when Pietro Alighieri, son of ‘The Supreme Poet’ Dante, bought a vineyard in Gargagnago in the center of Valpolicella Classica.

The winery makes five excellent wines: four reds and a white. They’ve built their elite reputation on consistency, elegance, and balance in their wines.

Their Possessioni Bianco is a unique type of Venetian wine which pairs the intense aromas of Sauvignon Blanc with the elegance and structure of Garganega. It’s a classic Italian white blend with good green apple, lemon-lime, and pear notes, and a vibrant acidity which resonates all the way through the dry finish.

Original price was: $24.00.Current price is: $14.00.

91 Points, James Suckling
A fruity and steely white with sliced-lemon, pear and light honey aromas and flavors. Some smoke, too. It’s medium-bodied with pretty fruit and a crisp finish.
