The estate dates back to the sixteenth century as a wine-producing property, belonging to the Pozzesi family ever since. Their former winemaker was Giulio Gambelli, one of the most legendary figures in Chianti who consulted for estates like Montevertine and Gianfranco Soldera. In an area dominated by giant wineries, Rodano remains a small, family-run, artisanal estate. Their gem is the Viacosta vineyard – a perfect, south-facing amphitheater of old vines that produces their flagship Chianti Classico, widely considered the best value traditional Chianti on the market.

This Poggialupi bottling is something special – a seamless blend of three consecutive Tuscan vintages (2020, 2021, 2022) made from ninety percent Sangiovese and ten percent Merlot. It’s made for immediate access with no rough edges, certified organic, fermented in cement, and aged in large neutral botti in the traditional style.
