Ringbolt Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2021

There’s a handful of producers that are must-tries in the region if you haven’t already jumped on the bandwagon. Of course the biggest name is Pennfolds, but there’s also Vasse Felix, Leeuwin and today’s feature: Ringbolt that demand international attention. All are making great wines, both red and white with the exception of Ringbolt. There’s a good reason for that. Their standout star, Heather Fraser only makes Cabernet Sauvignon off a few choice vineyards each year.

With minerally rich gravelly loam soils and windy conditions, the wines retain acidity beautifully down here. Throw in a high winter rainfall and the relentless sea breezes to cool the precious fruit and you have wonderful conditions for growing outstanding Cabernet Sauvignon. Complex and layered, combining earth and fruit, these wines consistently overdeliver while most of the wine world continues to miss out on these brilliant classics.

Par for the course with Ringbolt, their Margaret River Cabernet has been rated 92 points by Wine Spectator, making it the 11th year in the row, this bottling has been met with at least a 91-point review. That streak is insane.
