Régnard doesn’t cut corners, even at the village level. While most producers machine harvest these wines, Régnard insists on hand-picking every grape. They even use four different yeasts during fermentation for added complexity. From the prime exposed slopes to the meticulous winemaking, this gets the same attention as their top bottlings.
The result is pure Chablis magic – green apple and citrus backed by that classic mineral streak that only comes from those ancient Kimmeridgian soils. The 2023 vintage shows incredible precision, with that perfect balance of richness and tension that great Chablis is known for. The SOMM Journal just dropped 93 points, praising its “stony, sleek, and steely” character, while John Gilman called out its lovely balance and aging potential through 2040.

Régnard is an iconic name in Chablis, but even a winery with a 165-year history of making some of the best Chardonnay in Burgundy and throughout the world seems to be on a particular roll of late. We’re talking multiple 98-point scores and even a perfect 100-point review from Parker’s Wine Advocate in two out of the last three vintages. And that’s despite all the challenges in weather those years.
So when a largely uneventful 2023 growing season yielded a beautiful harvest and wines Decanter wrote “offer great approachability and considerable charm” it’s no wonder that Régnard once again rose to the top. Today, for the first time, we have their Saint Pierre Chablis.
Founded in 1860, Régnard doesn’t cut corners, even at the village level. While most producers machine harvest these wines, Régnard insists on hand-picking every grape.
