Ratzenberger is located smack in the heart of the the beautiful Renaissance town of Bacharach. The vineyards are situated on super steep, terraced and sun rich hills that has the added benefit of being protected by the Rhine River’s strong winds. The Rieslings of the Mittelrhein typically have great extraction and structure — yet are always marked by outstanding acidity, making them particularly enjoyable when paired with food. Ratzenberger in particular makes wines with great structure and length, which brings class and sophistication to these age-worthy whites.

Made with Dijon and Wente clones, they use stainless steel as well as French oak foudres and demi-muids to ferment their Chard, producing and elegant and laser focused Chardonnay.

Great house white and one that can surely hold its own with just about everything on the table.
Etienne Daulny is the latest in a very long line of Daulnys to farm Sauvignon Blanc near the tiny hamlet of Verdigny in the appellation of Sancerre. He is currently in charge of farming over twenty small parcels including some incredibly well respected fifty-year-old vines. This is a classic Sancerre, aromatically dynamic, with intense fruit, distinct minerality and blazing acidity. It’s the white wine we drink most often at home. Beautiful structure and length to this.
