Prisoner Wine Company Cabernet Sauvignon Napa 2021

There is good reason why Prisoner has grown exponentially into becoming one of America’s most well-known and well-liked brands. This one is an aromatic fireworks show followed by a fresh mouthful of red and black currants, juicy plum, and licorice. There’s some notes of cedar, crushed herbs, and nutmeg here too that all mesh together nicely to create a lush, full-bodied wine with plenty of layers and a lengthy memorable finish.

Original price was: $60.00.Current price is: $55.00.

Considered to be one of the greatest success stories in modern-day wine, The Prisoner was launched in 2000 by Orin Swift founder Dave Phinney. He wisely foresaw California’s tremendous potential outside of its two most popular grapes, Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.

The Prisoner absolutely EXPLODED on the scene. With a unique burst of flavor and a fruit-forward style that can only be compared to the Caymus Family wines, the Prisoner became a critical darling, earning multiple appearances in Wine Spectator’s ‘Top 100 Wines of the Year’ list.

The first wine Prisoner ever made was the Red Blend, a wine that has become their calling card, but to me, the Napa Cabernet Sauvignon is without a doubt their best wine. It’s made in a similar style to the Red Blend, with hand-picked grapes that stay in bins for 10 to 20 days to ensure maximum maturation before the crush process even begins. It gives Napa Valley fans everything they’re looking for.
