Maison Pierre Sparr was established by the Sparr family in 1680 in the very desirable Haut Rhin region. Here amongst the rolling hills in Alsace, they’ve maintained a commitment to quality for centuries, and their traditional method sparkling wines are outrageous and are priced to fly off the shelves.
Today is a particular treat– a sparkling pink. Incredibly aromatic, fruity, elegant, with a crispness and vibrancy that you can feel all the way to the back of your tongue. Pierre Sparr wines are always food-friendly and accessible for everyday consumption. We’ve had the Riesling in the store for years. This makes an excellent and unique addition.

In the 2020 vintage in Gevrey-Chambertin, yields were super low and temperatures were hotter than most Burgundian winemakers are accustomed. Many picked too late when the sugars were high and the fruit really ripe, but that was not the play. Still, Ann remained as cool in those hot temps as she did so many years ago in Napa, concentrating more on acid levels than sugars and picking at just the right time. This wine is absolutely singing – it’s an age-worthy beauty that should be even better in 4-7 years.
91 Points, Tasting Panel – 90 Points, Wine Enthusiast
There’s a consistency to Pierre Sparr wines that consumers just know they can count on throughout the entire portfolio. The wines deliver aromatics, elegance, clean fruit and are packed with vibrancy. They also happen to be extremely food-friendly, especially in the past few vintages where yields were down but quality rose to an all-time high. This is a bone-dry beauty with layers of citrus fruits, framed by wet stone and mineral character that adds dimension.
91 Points, James Suckling
The Bisol “Jeio” Prosecco NV is a delicious sparkler that comes from the Veneto region of northeast Italy. A brilliant straw yellow color, the first sip is an intense and fresh nose of citrus fruits and saline sensations. If you love fruit forward sparklers… this one is for you.
Fresh off a huge feature in The Wall Street Journal in which they were crowned as the top Prosecco Rose in a lineup of 14, I suspect what was once our little secret will explode. James Suckling also finally got around to tasting it and gave it 91 points. I’d rate it even higher. The 2021 Bisol Jeio Brut Prosecco Rosé is remarkable, and simply put, mouth-wateringly delicious. Inviting aromas of flowers and wild strawberries, with a complex mouthfeel that sings with citrus fruits and creaminess from the tiny crisp bubbles.
