I source coffee even more rigorously than I do wines. There are hundreds of wines I pick out each year for the Nicholas Wines faithful, but so far, this is only the third roast that I’ve felt comfortable putting my name on the bag. This coffee is so good, I want to get an autograph from the guys who grew the beans.
I’ve been quiet on the coffee front, but not for lack of trying. In the past few months I’ve gone through samples of Costa Rican beans, Indonesian, Ethiopian, and Guatemalan before I finally found something that was so amazing it made me say “whoa.” I left the bag out on the counter and Melissa said “Whoa.” I brought a sample bag to my warehouse team—same reaction. Everyone is blown away by this coffee.
For the first time ever, we have the Jamaican Blue Mountain roast. This is one of the few things in life where if you double the price, you do get double the quality. And while these are very premium beans, this represents an affordable luxury in a world where everything costs so much money.
