One of the more notably names in whiskey, everything that has Michter’s on the label is always first class. This one is one of the most limited production items, which continues to further the legacy and tradition of America’s first whiskey variety (rye) from America’s first whiskey company (Michter’s, originally known as Shenk’s). After a nearly three year hiatus, this one was re-released in 2014, and since then has been incredibly hard to track down.
It’s fantastic blend that mixes in both some heat and some spice. Cinnamon, dark chocolate, a hint of red pepper and charred sugar notes absolutely explode out of the bottle. I have just four of these bottles to go round.

Rich and creamy notes of toasted oak, vanilla, caramel, and fresh baked Bundt cake immediately flood the sense’s as soon as you pop this one open. Bottled at 100-Proof, you get a little bit of heat on the front palate followed by rich oak, leather and freshly baked bread. As it starts to open, you get some sweeter, creamy vanilla notes that cream in as well as campfire s’mores and a dash of pepper. The finish is long, and a bit spicy which leaves a memorable aftertaste and leaves you wanting more.
The third release of three batches from Booker’s Bourbon 2023 Collection is Booker’s Batch 2023-03 ‘Might Fine Batch.’ These mini-releases have become extremely popular, and for good reason. “The vanilla and brown sugar sweet notes come through very well from the white oak barrels this bourbon aged in for over seven years. The taste is great and full bodied; when I added a splash of water, it opened up some great flavors, with a finish that gives a lovely “Kentucky Hug. My Dad would say that this is a Mighty Fine batch of Booker’s.” -Fred Noe
Basil Hayden’s Kentucky Straight Bourbon is one of those go-to entry level whiskies that you can always count on to deliver. A product of the Beam Distilling Co., the Kentucky Straight checks in at 80 Proof and has a robust, rich flavor that hits you in waves. Charred oak, with notes of honey, caramel and fresh baked bread flood the senses with a brown sugar dominant palate that also features creme brulee notes and a hint of pepper. The finish goes on for a while, and leaves lingering notes of dried fruit, and cocoa.
This is definitely one of the most unique private barrels of bourbon you’re gonna find anywhere and it comes from our friends at in Kirby at Wyoming Whiskey. It’s been two years since we’ve had this baby! They make their own whiskey in-house instead of getting it shipped to them and finishing it. In doing so, they use winter wheat to churn out a medium length whiskey with notes of honey, burnt sugar, cinnamon and caramel on the finish. It’s sensational – but I only have 120 bottles from this barrel to offer up.

This Michter’s release will either be exactly what a person wants from a Rye, or this whiskey will be an enjoyable surprise. On the nose is has some wood scent even though it is not a bourbon, and hints at the spiced finish of the drink. The initial taste is of Caramel but it is not overly sweet. As you taste the rest of the whiskey it bursts with darker spice notes like pepper or paprika. What makes this more enjoyable is you never settle into finish of the whiskey. Each sip gives you both the sweeter drink along with the complex finish.
